ISLAMABAD: After Director General (DG) of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) told the Supreme Court (SC) that 150 people have admitted they own foreign properties, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Thursday directed FIA to produce 20 people out of those 150 in the court.
During the hearing of suo motu notice regarding foreign assets owned by Pakistanis, the FIA submitted its initial report to the apex court and informed that 35 politicians and their associates also own properties in Dubai.
The chief justice then asked GD FIA Bashir Memon as to when investigations would be conducted in this connection and what was the government waiting for.
To this, the Attorney General said that some progress had been made but more time was needed.
The court after hearing arguments of the concerned authorities adjourned hearing of the notice till November 1.
