PESHAWAR: Security Forces on Monday carried out a targeted operation in North Waziristan district, during which one terrorist was killed.
Security forces conducted the Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in Mir Ali of North Waziristan after receiving reports about the presence of terrorists, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement.
During an intense exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed while weapons and ammunition were also recovered, the ISPR said.
The killed terrorist remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens.
He was also involved in target killing of Qari Sami in North Waziristan District.
Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the area.
It is pertinent to mention here that on July 15 last, unknown attackers had killed local leader of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl Qari Samiuddin and his colleague, Hafiz Numan Dawar on Bich Road of Mirali town. They were attacked when they were on way home in Eidek village when their car was ambushed. Both died on the spot.
