Security put on high alert across the country following Sehwan attack

PESHAWAR: Following the deadliest attack on Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine in Sehwan Sharif that killed at least 80 people, security has been put on high alert in all the major cities across the country to avoid any untoward incident.
To avoid any untoward situation during Jumma prayers, strict security arrangements have been made outside all the mosques. Police has been ordered to ensure comprehensive strategy for maintenance of security for Jumma prayer through snap checking.
Security has been increased in the federal capital Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Rawalpindi and other cities with a major focus on important buildings.
Meanwhile, in Peshawar, security on all the important government installations and educational institutions in Peshawar and other cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were increased.
Similarly, in Karachi, police and Rangers officials have increased their surveillance after yesterday’s deadly incident. Inspector General Police Sindh has ordered to improved security around schools, colleges and the police training centre in Karachi.
It should be mentioned here that a most ravaging bomb ripped through a crowded Sufi shrine in Sehwan Shareef that killed at least 80 people including 20 children and wounding 250.
