Several agriculture sector development schemes in progress: Gandapur

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Agriculture, Sardar Ikramullah Khan Gandapur Thursday said the provincial government had initiated several agriculture sector development projects including 50 per cent subsidy on installation of solar tube-wells and subsidized machinery for the rehabilitation of agricultural land.
Talking to various delegation of growers in Haripur, Gandapur said the national economy of Pakistan was dependent on agriculture and 80 per cent rural population was associated with it.
Secretary, Agriculture, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mohammad Israr and heads of various agriculture departments were also present on the occasion.
The meeting reviewed the performance of various agriculture related departments in districts Haripur, Abbottabad and Mansehra and directed the officials to hold meetings with the representatives and delegations of farmers and steps should be taken immediately for the resolution of their problems.
