Shafqat to head sub-committee on ToRs for probe into rigging charges


ISLAMABAD: The joint parliamentary committee has formed an eight-member sub-committee for framing the ToRs for investigation into charges of rigging in the 2018 general elections.
Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood was named as convener of the sub-committee, which would finalize the ToRs within two weeks.
The decision was taken during second meeting of the committee, which was presided over by defence minister Pervaiz Khattak.
The committee also decided upon the names of other members of the sub-committee. Besides Mehmood, the other lawmakers who will represent the ruling coalition in the sub-committee include Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Barrister Saif and Sarfaraz Bugti. The opposition members in the panel will be Rana Sanaullah, Naveed Qamar, Hasil Bizenjo and Maulana Wasay.
