Shahbaz not to be appointed as PAC’s chairman

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has once again rejected the opposition parties demand to appoint Mian Shahbaz Sharif as chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
The decision was taken during a high level meeting which was presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan and attended by speaker national Assembly, Deputy speaker, defence minister Pervez Khattak, leader of House in Senate Shibli Faraz and others.
The meeting decided that Mian Shahbaz Sharif would never be appointed as chairman of the PAC. The meeting decided to continue talks with the opposition parties over the issue and asked them to recommend another name for the chairmanship. Pervez Khattak would be leading the government team for talks with opposition.
The meeting also discussed formation for other standing committees of the National Assembly and appointment of the parliamentary secretaries.
