Multan (AFP): Captain Shan Masood scored an impressive century, his first in four years, as Pakistan reached 233-1 at tea on the opening day of the first Test against England. Masood, who remains unbeaten on 130, shared a solid partnership with opener Abdullah Shafique, who is on 94, forming a formidable 225-run stand for the second wicket.
Masood’s century came off 102 balls with two sixes and 11 fours, marking a dominant return to form since his last ton against England in 2020. Shafique, close to his century, has so far hit 10 fours and a six, as the duo countered England’s bowlers on a batting-friendly pitch.
