SHC directs NAB to complete investigation against Durrani within 4 weeks

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) Wednesday directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to complete its investigation against Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani within four weeks.
During the hearing, Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh asked the NAB investigation officer about progress in the investigation against Durrani. The investigation officer told the court that a preliminary investigation in the case has been completed. However, he added that a more in-depth investigation was still underway.
The court ordered the NAB director that the investigation should be completed within four weeks, by May 29. The NAB was also ordered to submit an investigation report at the end of the four weeks.
The NAB investigator asked for four weeks’ time to file a reference against Durrani. To this, the court said if the reference is not filed at the end of four weeks, the verdict will be given on the basis of the evidence already presented to it.
