Sheikh Rashid’s petition seeking PM Abbasi’s disqualification dismissed

Pak-Nepal ties offer big scope for dynamic partnership: PM

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed’s petition seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi under Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
Sheikh Rashid in his petition had accused Shahid Khaqan Abbasi of corruption and termed it the mother of all cases.
The apex court ruled that the petition falls exclusively within the jurisdiction of Article 184(3) of the Constitution.
The court also directed the petitioner Sheikh Rashid to approach the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over his complaint.
The petition filed by Sheikh Rasheed alleged that in 2013, the PML-N government launched the LNG project and the then prime minister Nawaz Sharif with Shahid Khaqan Abbasi decided to handle the import and transmission of LNG at Port Qasim through their blue-eyed persons.
