MIRANSHAH: The sit-in of tribesmen and PTM supporters against Kharqamar check post incident was Thursday called off temporary after talks with tribal jirga till Eidul Fitr.
A jirga of tribal elders and local administration went to the protesters as ‘’Nanawatai’’ and appealed to them to end the sit-in. Respecting tribal tradition of Nanawatai, the sit-in was postponed till Eid.
The protesters led by Mohsin Dawar demanded release of all arrested people including Ali Wazir and proper investigation into Kharqamar incident.
A large number of people from North Waziristan and other areas are present in the protest. They are demanding investigation into the tragic incident, in which some people were killed and injured including security forces personnel.
MNA from North Waziristan Mohsin Dawar is leading the sit-in. He told the protesters that they were ready for investigation and accountability at any forum. He said that he and his friends would face cases in the court and follow the legal course.
