ABBOTTABAD: Smart lockdowns has been imposed in six areas of Abbottabad due to rapid increase in the novel coronavirus cases.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abbottabad has issued a notification in this regard stating that smart lockdown has been implemented in Kehall, Jhandi, PMA Road, Qalandarabad, Naryan and Nathia Gali.
Smart lockdown has been imposed in these areas due to the rapid increase in coronavirus cases. Entry and exit points of these areas will be sealed during smart lockdown.
According to the notification, only essential food items, medicine, general stores, tandoors and emergency service shops will remain open in these areas. It is pertinent to mention here that the number of coronavirus cases has surged 735 in Abbottabad district.
