Stop talking against judiciary, LHC directs Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday summoned the Returning Officer (RO) along with record in a case pertaining to the disqualification of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi from Murree’s NA-57 constituency.
Abbasi appeared before the court where his counsel argued that appellate tribunal could not disqualify anyone for life.
During the hearing, the court remarked that it wanted to speak with Shahid Khaqan Abbasi directly.
The court then remarked that while addressing Abbasi that governments get changed with time but courts work in accordance with the law.
“Stop talking against judiciary because you have to come to these same courts. You will not appear before any Australian court”, the court said.
It added that the judiciary carries no agenda and directed Abbasi to refrain from giving statements against judiciary.
“Being a former premier, you (Abbasi) should save and rectify the system”, the court remarked.
The court asked Abbasi if you should have said that Nawaz Sharif was your prime minister after he was disqualified by court.
