LAHORE: The PTI deserters, led by Jahangir Tareen, have launched new party, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), saying that are beginning their struggle to fulfill the dreams of Quaid-e-Azam and Iqbal.
Addressing a press conference along with Aleem Khan, Imran Ismail and other former PTI leaders, Jahangir Tareen said, “Today, we have come to launch a new party, ‘Istehkam Pakistan Party. The country is going through a delicate phase, and the need to form a new group arose so that we can contribute to the country’s progress. During this long journey, I have worked with many people and learned a lot from them.”
He said, “I may not be a traditional politician and entered the political arena with a delayed but with clear purpose. I joined the Tehreek-e-Insaf with the belief that we will achieve what Pakistan needs. Therefore, I have worked day and night to strengthen the PTI.”
Tareen said that they had always tried to secure a clear majority for PTI in elections and work for unity in the country. But that couldn’t happen, and people became disheartened, he added.
“ We have always been against attacks on political opponents, but PTI attacked military installations and caused harm to the memorials of martyrs. If this onslaught is not controlled, the homes of politicians could also be attacked in future.
Jahangir Tareen said, “We cannot allow this behavior to prevail, and today we pledge to play our role in rescuing Pakistan from this crisis. Pakistan needs leadership that can eliminate political and social divisions, promote love instead of hatred, instill hope in the nation, and lift them out of despair.”
“Our party will be the party of the common people, and we will also strive to fulfill the dreams of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal,” he said, adding that more people would join the new party very soon.
Earlier, Aleem Khan said, “We will work together under the leadership of Jahangir Tareen for the stability and prosperity of the country and provide a secure future for future generations.”
