PESHAWAR: The trainee doctors have called off their three-day strike in Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar after successful talks with health department officials.
The doctors had went on strike after dispute with paramedical staff over a hostel in the hospital, which had resulted in clashes.
According to a press statement of health ministry, the doctors representatives held talks with secretary health Dr Jamal Yousaf. The LRH administration officials and other health department officials also attended the meeting. The doctors called off the strike as a committee headed by additional health secretary Mohtasibillah Khan would investigate the dispute.
The committee would present its report within seven days, while the hostel would remain closed till completion of the investigation.
