MIRALI: The tribesmen Thursday continued their sit-in against target killings in North Waziristan Agency on the first day of the Holy month of Ramadan.
According to reports, the local tribesmen have staged a sit-in at main square of the Mirali for the last five days. The protesters are demanding end to targeted killings in North Waziristan Agency. The protesters are sharing their videos and pictures of their protest on social media as TV channels are not giving coverage to their protest.
They were holding black flags and chanted slogans against target killings in North Waziristan Agency. Thousands of tribesmen are taking part in the sit-in.
The political administration has also deployed security forces for the security of the protesters. The political administration has claimed that talks with the protesters have started through a jirga. However, no breakthrough was reported till filing of this report.
Thousands of tribesmen had started sit-in after killing of son of former MNA Maulana Dinadar Khan and others. According to protesters, more than ten people have been killed in Mirali and Miranshah during last one month.
