Ulema support sought for peaceful Chelum in Kohat

KOHAT: The Deputy Commissioner Kohat here Monday urged upon the Ulema of all sects to lend a helping hand to district administration for maintenance of peace and tranquility during the Chelum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and make fail the designs of anti-social elements.
He also asked the members of peace committees to make sure their presence at the prescribed place where police and officials of district administration would also be present to assist them.
He was chairing a meeting of Ulema belonging to different sects at his office here.
The DC said processions of mourners should pass through the prescribed routes to avoid any untoward incident and urged upon the Ulema to preach coherence and brotherhood in their speeches.
The Ulema assured the DC of their complete support during the processions of Chelum.
The DC also directed the police force to keep a vigil eye over the mourning routes and have cohesion with local people for maintenance of peace in the area during Chelum.
Tehsil Nazim Kohat Malik Taimur, DPO Kohat Javed Iqbal, AC Kohat Gul Bano and Ulema from different sects were present during the meeting.
