ISLAMABAD: World Thalassaemia Day is being observed across the globe including Pakistan on Tuesday (May 8) to raise awareness about this disease among common public.
The theme for the day this year is “Thalassaemia past, present and future: Documenting progress and patients’ needs worldwide”.
Medical experts say that 15,000 children born with Thalassaemia every year in Pakistan.
The experts say that Thalassaemia is hereditary disease which transfers from parents to their children.
Meanwhile, doctors say that conducting blood test before marriage is necessary to prevent this disease.
