Accountability court defers Zardari, Talpur's indictment in money laundering case

ISLAMABAD: Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur will appear before the accountability today in fake accounts case today (Monday).
Asif Zardari has directed the party workers not to come to the accountability bureau on Monday. In his message to PPP workers, Zardari said that I believe in facing the cases with patience. Efforts are being made to implicate us in different cases, he said.
According to reports, Asif Zardari has sought time from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) till April 17 to submit answer in the fake accounts case.
Reports stated that the anti-corruption watchdog has received the letter written by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman, but is yet to take any decision regarding the request.
It is worth mentioning here that Asif Zardari had earlier requested a ten-day relief from the NAB which ended on March 30.
On the other hand, local administration has made special security arrangements for the occasion. No unauthorised person will be allowed to enter the NAB court. Heavy contingent of police along with 200 Rangers personnel will be deployed on coming to Judicial Complex to avoid any untoward incident.
