Security forces have killed 11 Indian-sponsored terrorists belonging to Fitna-al-Khawarij in two separate intelligence-based operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were conducted on January 8, 2026, in North Waziristan and Kurram district, targeting militants linked to the Indian-backed proxy group Fitna-al-Khawarij.
The ISPR said that acting on credible intelligence, security forces launched an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan, where a terrorist hideout was effectively engaged. During a heavy exchange of fire, six terrorists of Fitna-al-Khawarij were killed.
In a second operation carried out in Kurram district, security forces conducted a joint intelligence-based operation along with police. During the gun battle, five more terrorists belonging to Fitna-al-Khawarij were neutralised.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists, who were involved in multiple terrorist activities, including targeted attacks on security forces, law enforcement personnel, and innocent civilians, the statement added.
The ISPR said clearance operations are ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining presence of Indian-sponsored militants of Fitna-al-Khawarij.
Reaffirming its resolve, the military said security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue counter-terrorism operations with full force and determination under the National Action Plan and in line with the federal apex committee-approved strategy “Azm-e-Istehkam”, until foreign-backed terrorism is completely eradicated from the country.
