At least 11 India-backed militants were killed on Saturday as security forces carried out a fresh round of raids across Balochistan, part of the ongoing Operation Raddul Fitna 3, according to security sources.
The most significant of these operations unfolded in the Gowargo area of Panjgur district, where five militants were killed. Officials said a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the site following the encounter.
Balochistan Security Forces Operation Expands to Chagai District
Separately, security forces launched raids in the Ameenabad and Siah Chang localities of Chagai district, an operation that left six more militants dead, sources confirmed. Together, the two operations account for the 11 fatalities reported so far in this latest push against militancy in the province.
These raids come against the backdrop of a broader security challenge that has gripped Pakistan since 2021, when the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan coincided with a marked rise in militant activity, particularly across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Data from the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) paints a stark picture of how concentrated this violence has become. The organisation’s latest assessment found that KP and Balochistan combined made up nearly 96% of all conflict-related deaths nationwide during the second quarter of 2026, with KP bearing the brunt of the toll.
Of the total fatalities recorded in that period, KP alone accounted for over 61%, translating to 475 deaths, while Balochistan reported 265 deaths, or roughly 34% of the total. The frequency of attacks followed a similar pattern: KP logged 151 violent incidents, representing 57% of all cases nationwide, while Balochistan recorded 94 incidents, making up 35%.
The figures reinforce a trend security analysts have flagged repeatedly in recent quarters, that militancy in Pakistan has become increasingly concentrated in these two provinces, even as operations like Raddul Fitna 3 continue to target militant networks operating there.
