Security forces have killed 13 militants in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
According to ISPR, the operations were carried out against Fitna al-Khawarij following credible intelligence reports about the presence of militants in different areas of the province.
In the first operation, conducted in Bannu district, security forces engaged the militants during an exchange of fire, resulting in the killing of eight Khawarij militants.
In a separate operation in Kurram district, security forces eliminated five more militants. A large cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the slain militants.
ISPR said that sanitisation operations are ongoing in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining militants.
The military’s media wing reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to completely eradicating foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
