The targeted assault took place at the Daraban police station in Dera Ismail Khan, claiming the lives of three brave soldiers, Havaldar State, and Sepoy Zalafiqar, while leaving approximately 16 others injured. The attackers, using a car laden with explosives, struck around 3 am, causing widespread panic and chaos at the police station’s main gate.
The combined use of gunfire and a powerful explosion prompted a rapid response from the police and security forces, who have mobilized to the scene. As the situation unfolds, there is growing concern about additional casualties among the police jawans involved in the operation. Emergency measures are in place at the local hospital to manage the influx of casualties and provide necessary resources for medical assistance.
The ongoing nature of the attack underscores the challenges faced by security forces in neutralizing the threat. In solidarity, our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the martyred soldiers, and the nation stands united against such heinous acts of terrorism.
A Pakistan-based terror outfit, Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan (TJP), has claimed responsibility for the attack that took place close to tribal regions bordering Afghanistan.
