The Pakistan Army has taken former ISI chief, Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hamid, into custody, according to a statement released by the military’s media wing on Monday. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that this action complies with the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s orders.
A detailed court of inquiry was conducted by the Pakistan Army to verify the complaints made against Lt Gen Faiz Hamid (Retd) in the Top City Case. Based on this investigation, the military has begun appropriate disciplinary action against him under the Pakistan Army Act.
In addition to the Top City Case, multiple violations of the Pakistan Army Act have been established against Lt Gen Faiz Hamid post-retirement. These findings have led to the initiation of a Field General Court Martial.
The ISPR confirmed that Lt Gen Faiz Hamid (Retd) has been placed in military custody as the legal proceedings move forward. This step underscores the army’s commitment to upholding military law and discipline.
The Lt Gen Faiz Hamid custody case continues to develop, with the army taking necessary actions in line with legal and military procedures.
