17 Indian-Sponsored Khawarij Killed in Karak-Lakki Marwat Operation: ISPR

At least 17 Indian-sponsored Khawarij were killed in a successful joint operation by security forces and police along the Karak-Lakki Marwat border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Saturday.

According to ISPR, weapons and ammunition were recovered from the terrorists who had been planning attacks in the region. Acting on intelligence reports, security forces launched a major operation in Lakki Marwat, while police simultaneously carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Darsha Khel, Karak.

The terrorists, reportedly linked with the Mullah Nazir group, were surrounded in a well-coordinated maneuver. In the ensuing engagement, 17 Khawarij were eliminated. The ISPR added that the group had been involved in multiple terror attacks targeting security forces and the killing of innocent civilians.

The spokesperson stressed that operations remain underway to eliminate any remaining Indian-backed Khawarij in the area, reiterating that Pakistan’s forces are committed to eradicating terrorism from the country once and for all.

PM pays tribute to forces
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hailed the operation, paying tribute to the bravery and professionalism of Pakistan’s security personnel. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and reaffirmed the government’s resolve to eliminate terrorism completely.

He stated that the Khawarij’s designs were foiled through timely and skillful action, vowing that the scourge of terrorism would soon be wiped out from its roots.

This latest success follows a series of counterterrorism operations in recent weeks. On September 21, security forces killed seven Khawarij, including two suicide bombers, in Dera Ismail Khan. Earlier, on September 9 and 10, 19 Khawarij were neutralized in operations across North Waziristan, Mohmand, and Bannu districts.

Pakistan’s resolve against Indian-backed militancy remains unwavering, with security institutions determined to restore lasting peace across the nation.
