PESHAWAR: Despite the completion of the election process, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – KP universities facing a significant challenge as 19 universities are running without Vice-Chancellors. The vacancy has raised concerns from various quarters, with the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) expressing deep worry over the matter.
The absence of leadership in these institutions is reportedly causing notable disruptions in both administrative and academic affairs. FAPUASA has emphasized the obstacles posed by this vacancy, stressing the urgent need for government action. These universities are include University of Swabi, Women University of Swabi, Gomal University, Kohat University, University of Buner.
In a statement released in Peshawar, the association has called upon authorities to expedite the appointment process for Vice-Chancellors. The delay in filling these vital positions is seen as detrimental to the overall functioning and progress of universities throughout the province.
FAPUASA’s plea for swift government intervention highlights the urgency of the situation. It is crucial that immediate steps are taken to address the leadership vacuum and ensure the efficient operation of these academic institutions.
