Police arrest man for allegedly killing sister, brother-in-law in Abbottabad

DI KHAN: The district police arrested 72 proclaimed offenders and 283 accused with seizing a large amount of arms and ammunition during various operations conducted against criminals in the district during the last one month.
The police also conducted drive against illegal arms during the month of October on the directives of District Police Officer(DPO) Raja Abdul Saboor Khan and arrested 145 accused with five-kilogram explosive materials, one detonator, 85 pistols,, 12 short-guns, 19 rifles, two knives, four Kalashnikov, three kalakov and 1517 cartridges and registered 145 cases.
The police also arrested 138 accused and recovered over 26 kilgoram hashish, 125 gram opium, 765 gram heroin and 62 bottles of wine from their possession in crackdowns against narcotics and drugs during the same period.
During the same period, the police also nabbed 72 proclaimed offenders involved in killing, robbery and terrorism etc cases in various operations against criminals in last month.
The police also conducted snap checking at various places and rounded up several accused during the same period and recovered illegal arms of different types.
Besides the police also reviewed security arrangements of educational institutions and took actions under relevant rules.
During the same period, several challans were issued for violating traffic rules and enhanced number of traffic wardens was deployed in main city areas in order to avoid traffic mess.
The DPO has also appreciated bravery of police force and added it was committed to protecting lives and property of citizens.
He urged the police to keep close liaison with the citizen whose property and life would be protected at all costs and no negligence would be tolerated on this front.
He said no one would be allowed to take law into his own hands, adding strict action would be taken against those who were found involved in criminal activities.
He also appealed people to cooperate with police to promote brotherhood, tolerance and religious harmony for ensuring durable peace in the district which had witnessed subversive acts in past. – APP
