Accountability court adjourns hearing against Sharifs till 2pm today

Nawaz, Maryam and Safdar’s parole to end today

ISLAMABAD: The accountability court Tuesday adjourned the proceedings against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family till 2:00pm owing to the absence of their lead defence counsel Khwaja Haris.
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam and son-in-law MNA Capt (retd) Safdar appeared in court. The court was informed that the lead counsel was busy at the Supreme Court, therefore, the hearing may be adjourned till 2pm. The court adjourned the hearing till 2pm today and allowed the Sharifs to leave the court.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed three corruption references against the Sharif family in September last year in light of the Supreme Court’s July 28 verdict in the Panama Papers case. The references pertain to the Al-Azizia Steel Mills, offshore companies including Flagship Investment Ltd, and Avenfield properties of London.
