The Accountability Court in Islamabad has issued an order to seize all properties and assets in Pakistan belonging to property tycoon Malik Riaz in connection to the £190m case.
Declaring Malik Riaz and his son Ahmed Ali Riaz as proclaimed offenders, the court, headed by Judge Mohammad Bashir, instructed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to confiscate their properties, bank accounts, and vehicles.
Despite court orders, the accused duo failed to appear before the Accountability Court, leading to this decisive action.
The court’s directive encompasses a comprehensive freeze, including the seizure of properties, freezing of bank accounts, and impounding of vehicles associated with the offenders.
The NAB had filed a reference against Imran Khan and others, accusing them of involvement in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust scam, alleging that Khan and his wife obtained significant assets from Bahria Town Ltd for legalizing funds returned to Pakistan by the UK.
