QUETTA: Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Chairman of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), has decided to withdraw his nomination papers from the NA-265 Pishin constituency, throwing his support behind Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.
In an official statement from PkMAP, Achakzai expressed his withdrawal from the NA-265 race, endorsing Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The PkMAP leader requested the party to retract his nomination papers for this seat. Maulana Fazlur Rehman is entering the electoral fray for the first time in Balochistan, vying for a National Assembly seat.
Analysts believe that Achakzai’s withdrawal will bolster Maulana Fazl’s electoral prospects. Today marks the deadline for candidates to withdraw their nomination papers ahead of the scheduled general elections on February 8, as per the Election Commission’s timetable.
