Additional Police Deployed to Disperse Aleema Khan’s Sit-In Near Adiala Jail, as authorities prepare to manage the growing protest outside the prison. Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has staged a sit-in near the Factory Checkpost, prompting law enforcement to deploy extra personnel, including female officers, to the site. Additional Police Deployed to Disperse Aleema Khan’s Sit-In Near Adiala Jail amid rising tensions and precautionary measures by the police.
Sources confirmed that police have completed preparations for a potential operation to disperse protesters. Lights along Adiala Road near the sit-in have been turned off, while prison vans and water cannon vehicles have been stationed nearby. Law enforcement officials are closely monitoring the situation and are evaluating various options to maintain law and order.
The sit-in was organized after authorities refused to allow PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali and Imran Khan’s sisters to meet the former prime minister. Aleema Khan has remained steadfast in her protest, with the number of participants reportedly increasing. She had previously filed a contempt of court petition in the Islamabad High Court against the Adiala Jail superintendent and other officials for not implementing the court’s order allowing two weekly meetings with Imran Khan.
The protest follows an overnight sit-in by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi and several PTI members outside Adiala jail, where Imran Khan has been incarcerated since 2023. Afridi was denied permission to meet Imran Khan for the eighth time on Thursday, further fueling tensions and prompting Aleema Khan’s demonstration.
