Pakistani actor Affan Wahid has spoken out against ageism in the entertainment industry, calling out those who criticize aging actors for their age. In a recent appearance on the FHM podcast with Aamna Ilyas, Wahid expressed his frustration with the constant scrutiny on social media, which can lead to depression.
Wahid argued that it’s unfair to expect actors to remain youthful forever, as aging is a natural part of life. He also pointed out the hypocrisy of criticizing actresses for undergoing cosmetic procedures to enhance their appearance, saying that they can’t win either way.
Aamna Ilyas echoed Wahid’s sentiments, saying that the emphasis on youth as the standard of beauty is misguided. She joked that even the late Princess Diana would have faced criticism for aging if she were alive today.
Both actors emphasized the need for a more accepting and inclusive attitude towards aging in the industry.”
