Peshawar: Recent reports show that Afghan citizens are traveling abroad using fake Pakistani identity cards. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested 34 Afghan individuals for their involvement in creating these counterfeit documents.
These individuals entered Pakistan illegally via Chaman. They were found trying to travel abroad with fake Pakistani identity cards and passports made in Nadra. Each person reportedly paid Rs. 12,000 to gain entry into Pakistan, according to the Additional Director of the FIA.
The arrests began after two suspected foreigners were detained at the Nadra Mega Center. Following this, a raid at a nearby hostel led to the capture of 32 additional foreigners. Authorities recovered fake Pakistani identity cards and Afghan passports during the operation. Many of those arrested are young men and boys.
The suspects aimed to acquire Pakistani passports and identity cards through an agent. Investigations are underway to apprehend this agent. The arrested individuals planned to reach Gulf countries using the fraudulent documents. Officials are also looking into the possible involvement of NADRA and passport office employees in this scheme.
