The Afghan Taliban have once again shown their true face — not as rulers, but as exporters of terror. Their regime has turned Afghanistan into a breeding ground for militancy, destabilizing every neighbour, from Pakistan to Iran, and now Tajikistan.
Fresh violence erupted in Badakhshan province where Afghan Taliban fighters clashed with Tajik border forces. According to sources, the gun battle broke out in the Dawong area of Shahr-e-Buzurg district on Sunday. Taliban and Tajik troops exchanged both light and heavy fire. One Taliban militant was killed, while four others were wounded.
The confrontation did not end on the battlefield. On Tuesday, Taliban and Tajik officials met in Dawong. The meeting turned into a tense war of words. In video footage, Shafiqullah Hafizi, the Taliban’s head of mines in Badakhshan, accused Tajikistan of training 350 armed opponents against the Taliban government. Tajik officials hit back, saying Afghanistan itself is a sanctuary for terrorists.
Neither side has issued an official statement, but the facts speak for themselves. The clashes reportedly began after Chinese mining companies expanded their operations in the region, damaging parts of the Amu River. This has only fueled more anger in an already volatile zone.
For years, Tajikistan has hosted members of the National Resistance Front and other Taliban opponents. This policy has worsened relations, but it also exposes the Taliban regime’s growing isolation.
The Afghan Taliban are already accused by Pakistan of backing TTP terrorists who spill blood inside Pakistani cities. Iran, too, has condemned them for supporting militant groups along the border. Now Tajikistan has joined the chorus of nations calling out the Taliban rulers for protecting terrorists.
The truth is undeniable: the Taliban government is not a government at all, but a hub of global terrorism. Their actions threaten the stability of the entire region. The latest clash in Badakhshan shows once again that the Afghan Taliban bring nothing but violence, hatred, and bloodshed.
