Afghanistan Hides Behind Doha Agreement While Exporting Terror to Pakistan

"Afghanistan Doha Agreement hypocrisy and terrorism against Pakistan"

ISLAMABAD: Afghanistan’s sudden reference to the Doha Agreement in its dealings with the United States is nothing but opportunism and hypocrisy. Reports suggest Washington has sought access to the Bagram air base, and Kabul is invoking the Doha framework to resist American pressure. Yet, when it comes to its own obligations under the accord, Afghanistan has completely failed to deliver.

Broken Promises of the Doha Agreement

The Taliban pledged in the Doha Agreement that Afghan territory would not be used for terrorism or interference in neighboring states. Instead, Afghanistan has become a safe haven for groups bent on destabilizing the region. Their record is not poor—it is catastrophic.

Pakistan Pays the Price

Pakistan has borne the brunt of Afghanistan’s betrayal. Thousands of Pakistanis have been martyred or injured in attacks launched from Afghan soil since the Taliban takeover. Despite Islamabad presenting concrete evidence, sanctuaries for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) remain untouched across the border.

This failure has allowed the fitna of Khawarij to regroup, spilling blood inside Pakistan while Kabul looks the other way.

Shameless Hypocrisy

The hypocrisy is glaring. Afghanistan loudly cites the Doha Agreement when it comes to resisting US presence, yet ignores the same agreement when it concerns terrorism exported into Pakistan. Such duplicity strips Kabul of credibility and proves the futility of trusting verbal promises.

Pakistan’s Unmatched Sacrifices

In contrast, Pakistan’s armed forces have made unmatched sacrifices to defend the nation. Through relentless operations, they have dismantled terrorist networks within Pakistan, even as new threats are launched from Afghan soil. The resilience of Pakistan’s security institutions and the patience of its people are a stark reminder of where true responsibility lies.

The Only Path to Peace

Regional peace cannot survive on selective adherence to agreements. If Kabul continues to hide behind the Doha Agreement while simultaneously violating it, instability will only deepen. Until Afghanistan crushes terrorist sanctuaries and stops exporting militancy into Pakistan, its appeals for sympathy on the world stage will ring hollow.
