Pakistan cricketer Ahmad Shahzad showcased a stellar performance, scoring a remarkable 66 runs off 41 balls, leading Fortune Barishal to a convincing 49-run triumph against the Sylhet Strikers in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Tuesday.
In the pursuit of a target of 187, the Strikers were dismissed for 137 in the 18th over. Aside from Zakir Hasan (46), Shamsur Rahman (25), and Benny Howell (24), no other batsman made significant contributions.
Fortune Barishal’s Mohammad Imran (4-29) excelled with the ball, claiming four crucial wickets. Mehidy Hasan Miraz (2-21) and Khaled Ahmed (2-29) secured two wickets each, while Akif Javed (1-22) also took a wicket. However, Dunith Wellalage (0-24) and Soumya Sarkar (0-8) remained wicketless.

Fortune Barishal, after being put into bat, posted a formidable total of 186-5 in 20 overs. Ahmed Shahzad, with his impressive innings featuring nine fours and two sixes, contributed significantly until he was dismissed by Benny Howell (3-21), who took three wickets. Mahmudullah played a stellar role, smashing an unbeaten 51 off 24 balls, adorned with seven boundaries and two towering sixes.
