PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) leader Aimal Wali Khan has launched a strong attack on the KP government, blaming it for the deadly flash floods in Swat. He described the disaster not as an accident, but as a “murder” caused by government failure.
Aimal Wali accused the provincial authorities of ignoring early warnings issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). He questioned why, despite alerts from the federal government, the KP government failed to take preventive steps.
“Why were no safety measures in place when the warning was already there?” he asked. He also slammed the rescue efforts. “Why didn’t anyone come to help those stuck in floodwaters in time?” Aimal Wali demanded answers.
The ANP leader directly criticized Rescue 1122, asking whether its machinery and equipment were meant only for Islamabad. His remarks reflected deep frustration with what he called the incompetence of provincial authorities.
He called the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a “severe administrative crisis.” Aimal Wali held the Chief Minister responsible and accused those who had installed him of pushing the province into chaos.
According to him, the KP Government Failure led to the scale of this tragedy. He said the provincial leadership’s negligence, mismanagement, and lack of coordination had made things worse for the people.
Aimal Wali’s remarks come at a time when public anger is growing over the state’s response to natural disasters. Critics say that poor governance in KP has now become a serious threat to public safety.
