Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar has said the role of the Pakistan Air Force in defending the country will be remembered in history for years to come. He stated that the force delivered a strong and clear message to the enemy during the Marka-e-Haq conflict.

Speaking at a ceremony held at Air Headquarters to mark one year of the victory, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar paid tribute to Pakistan Air Force personnel for their professionalism and operational success during the conflict with India last year.

Tensions between the two countries escalated on May 6-7 after India accused Pakistan of involvement in an attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan rejected the allegations and offered an independent investigation into the incident.

The military confrontation continued for more than 80 hours before ending on May 10 after diplomatic efforts led by the United States. During the conflict, Pakistan reportedly shot down several Indian jets and drones, strengthening its image as a stabilising force in the region.

Addressing the gathering, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar said the Pakistan Air Force played a major role in giving a crushing response to Indian aggression. He claimed that enemy air defence systems suffered heavy damage during the operation.

The Air Chief also said the Pakistan Air Force targeted several enemy installations with precision. He added that advanced warfare systems, electronic combat strategies and drone operations were used effectively throughout the conflict.

He praised Pakistan’s cyber warfare teams for disrupting enemy cyber defences during the operation. According to him, the country’s cyber and electronic warfare capabilities performed successfully alongside air combat operations.

The Air Chief congratulated officers and personnel for their dedication and performance. He said the force had demonstrated exceptional skills in air, cyber and electronic warfare, proving that the Pakistan Air Force remains fully prepared to defend the country’s airspace.

He also reaffirmed that the Pakistan Air Force would continue strengthening its operational capabilities to meet future security challenges and maintain national defence readiness.
