LAHORE: Peshawar Zalmi shattered the dreams of Karachi Kings to play final of Pakistan Super League third edition (PSL-3) for the first time in the three seasons as the former beat the latter by 13 runs here at Gaddafi Stadium.
Before the commencement of the match, Lahore received intermittent rain for almost the entire day which delayed the contest and hence the match was reduced to 16 overs.
Karachi Kings won the toss and elected the bowl first; however, their decision did not turn out to be productive as Peshawar Zalmi scored 170 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 16 overs.
Kamran Akmal made 77 runs of 27 balls taking his side to a mammoth score in the 16-over game. Bopara took three wickets.
Chasing the target, Karachi Kings could score 160 runs for the loss of two wickets despite the half centuries of Babar Azam and Joe Denly.
Peshawar Zalmi will now face former champions Islamabad United in the final of PSL-3 at National Stadium in Karachi on March 25.
