All Students and Staff Safely Rescued from Wana Cadet College as Operation Continues Against Militants

Security sources have confirmed that all students, teachers, and staff members trapped inside Wana Cadet College have been safely rescued after a swift and carefully coordinated military operation. Officials said the clearance mission is still underway against three militants hiding inside one of the college’s blocks.

According to security sources, the operation began after militants, allegedly backed by Afghanistan and India, launched a deadly assault on November 10 by ramming an explosives-laden vehicle into the college’s main gate. The powerful blast destroyed the gate and damaged nearby buildings. Responding immediately, Pakistan Army personnel engaged the attackers, killing two terrorists on the spot while three others took shelter inside the college building.

At the time of the attack, around 650 people, including 525 cadets, were present on campus. Despite the intensity of the assault, security forces prioritized the safety of all individuals inside, evacuating 115 people—mostly students—during the early phase of the rescue operation. Authorities confirmed that the morale of students and teachers remained high throughout the ordeal.

Security forces cordoned off the entire area, isolating the remaining militants to a single building before launching a full-scale clearance operation. Officials have stated that the mission will continue until the last militant is neutralized, ensuring the complete security of the campus.

CCTV footage from Wana Cadet College captured the moment the suicide vehicle crashed into the main gate, causing a massive explosion and damaging nearby structures. The footage further supports the military’s claim that the attackers were part of an externally-backed terrorist network aiming to disrupt peace in South Waziristan.
