Amir aiming to produce World Boxing Champion from Pakistan


KARACHI: After winning World Boxing titles Amir Khan is now aiming to produce World Champion pugilist from Pakistan.
"I have achieved everything in boxing and now it’s my life time dream to prepare and groom World Champion boxer from Pakistan," he told reporters at the news conference here at local hotel on Tuesday.
He said Pakistan got abundant of sporting and boxing talent and they can be nurtured into a world champion.
Amir recalled that Pakistan got a great history in preparing and producing Asian champions and medal winning boxers in Olympics and Commonwealth Games.
He said keeping in view his vast international experience in amateur and professional boxing, he can train, guide and prepare quality, which can made world champions.
He said it was challenging task but he was looking forward with great deal hope and ambitions.
Amir said he was planning to launch boxing academies in ten centres of Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and other provincial capitals.
He said without imparting high-level and scientific training and coaching world class boxers can’t be produced. …APP
