Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in Doha, where both leaders discussed regional peace, security, and ways to strengthen ties. The meeting with the Amir of Qatar took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the close bond between the two countries.
Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Amir of Qatar for the special gesture of fighter jet escort for his aircraft and praised Qatar’s hospitality. He said such gestures highlight the strong friendship between Pakistan and Qatar.
During the talks, both leaders shared views on the current situation in the Gulf region. The Amir of Qatar and the prime minister stressed the need for dialogue and cooperation to resolve issues and maintain stability. The prime minister also condemned recent attacks in the region and expressed full support for the people of Qatar.
They agreed to expand cooperation in defense, security, and energy sectors. Both sides showed commitment to further strengthening long-standing relations between Pakistan and Gulf countries.
Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Doha on an official visit, where he received a warm welcome. Senior Qatari officials greeted him at the airport, and a guard of honor was presented. The city was decorated with Pakistani flags to mark the visit.
The prime minister is accompanied by senior officials, including Ishaq Dar, Attaullah Tarar, Tariq Fatemi, and Musharraf Zaidi.
In a separate development, Shehbaz Sharif also held a detailed meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah. The discussion focused on the evolving regional situation and rising tensions in the Middle East.
The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong support for Saudi Arabia and praised its leadership for showing patience during challenging times. He said the people of Pakistan stand firmly with Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi crown prince appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for peace and acknowledged the role of its leadership in reducing tensions. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in defense and security while strengthening their strategic partnership.
During his visit, Shehbaz Sharif also traveled to Madinah, where he offered prayers at Masjid-e-Nabawi for Pakistan’s progress and global peace.
The visit is part of Pakistan’s wider diplomatic efforts in the Middle East. It comes at a time when the region faces increasing tensions involving major global powers. Pakistan continues to promote dialogue and peaceful solutions to maintain stability.
