RAWALPINDI: Boxing icon Amir Khan and martial arts champion Shahzaib Rind had a notable encounter on Saturday as they met with Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the meeting, General Munir commended both athletes for their remarkable achievements in the realm of sports, expressing admiration for their contributions.
In his remarks, COAS Munir underscored his confidence in the potential of Pakistan’s vibrant youth. He emphasized the abundant talent present among the country’s young generation.
Notably, Shahzaib Rind secured a decisive victory over Rana Singh in a Karate Combat event held in Dubai on April 21, despite Singh’s notable track record. Rind attributed his success to rigorous training, including sessions in the United States.
In a separate encounter with Bollywood luminary Salman Khan, Shahzaib Rind shared that Khan exhibited a keen interest in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and acknowledged having watched some of Rind’s previous bouts.
