RAWALPINDI: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir, has reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment and readiness to counter all types of threats. This statement came during a field training exercise near Narowal and Sialkot, as per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday.
“The Pakistan Armed Forces, with the firm backing of the nation, stand fully prepared to defend the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty against any challenge,” said General Munir. He addressed the soldiers involved in the training session while highlighting the forces’ capabilities.
The military exercise showcased coordinated operations involving various units. These included armoured and mechanised infantry, artillery, air defence, anti-tank missile teams, and army aviation. The training also integrated electronic warfare techniques and information operations. These elements aimed to disrupt enemy communication and counter disinformation effectively in a modern warfare setting, as per the ISPR.
General Munir was received by the Gujranwala Corps Commander and the Inspector General of Training and Evaluation. He was given a detailed briefing about the exercise’s goals and execution. The training focused on enhancing professional skills and refining battlefield strategies to tackle emerging challenges.
The army chief praised the troops for their excellent training, high morale, and operational readiness. He stressed the need for constant vigilance and preparation to deal with any threats posed by adversaries.
This exercise is part of regular military drills conducted within Pakistan and with international allies. Last month, General Munir visited the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) to observe the Warrior-VIII exercise. This training involved collaboration between the Pakistan Army and China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
The Warrior-VIII exercise, held annually, focused on counter-terrorism strategies. It lasted three weeks and showcased the strong partnership between the two countries. Earlier in November, the two nations also conducted joint aerial drills to strengthen their military cooperation.
Pakistan’s armed forces continue to conduct such exercises to maintain peak readiness and enhance their ability to address modern battlefield scenarios. General Munir’s emphasis on preparation reflects the military’s unwavering commitment to national security.
