The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, chaired the 268th Corps Commanders Conference at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Friday. Top military leaders gathered to discuss the country’s internal and regional security in depth.
The session began with prayers for the brave martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians. Their ultimate sacrifice for peace and stability was remembered with deep respect. The forum paid rich tribute to their courage and commitment in defending Pakistan.
Participants received a detailed security briefing. It covered the evolving regional threats, internal challenges, and Pakistan’s strategic response. The military leadership expressed firm resolve to wipe out terrorism across the country. They vowed to eliminate extremists without discrimination or delay.
The conference emphasized the importance of unity and harmony among institutions. It resolved that the state would take all necessary steps against anti-state actors, their supporters, and those promoting violence. It was made clear that no individual or group would be allowed to spread unrest, especially in Balochistan.
The forum strongly condemned those trying to destabilize Balochistan. “These hostile political and social forces will be defeated with public support,” the leaders declared. They said the real faces and agendas of both local and foreign elements had been exposed. The message was firm: such forces will receive no mercy or leniency.
The conference placed special focus on the swift execution of the National Action Plan. The Azm-e-Istehkam plan, which forms part of this counter-terrorism policy, was called vital for long-term stability. Military leaders urged all institutions to adopt a unified approach in this fight against terror. The need for national support in implementing this security strategy was underlined again and again.
General Munir appreciated the formation of District Coordination Committees under the National Action Plan. He stressed seamless cooperation among all state organs for the success of this anti-terror framework. “All actions must follow the Constitution. There is no space for delay or excuses,” the forum emphasized.
The COAS assured full military support to the government and law enforcement agencies. He called for tough legal action against terror financing and illegal activities linked to extremism. “Every institution must ensure joint efforts and clear communication,” General Munir added. “There is no place for terrorists and their backers in Pakistan.”
The conference also addressed regional concerns. The commanders condemned India’s human rights abuses in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They expressed outrage over Indian military moves along the Line of Control (LoC), including attempts to provoke ceasefire violations.
“Pakistan will keep offering political, moral, and diplomatic backing to the Kashmiri cause,” the forum declared. The commanders also expressed deep solidarity with the people of Palestine. They denounced Israeli war crimes in Gaza and reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm support for the Palestinian struggle.
In his closing remarks, General Munir called for maximum operational readiness. He urged field commanders to maintain top-level professionalism and constant preparedness. Rigorous training and high discipline were emphasized to face any threat effectively.
