A deadly bomb blast struck Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, targeting a vehicle carrying local officials.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafiq, the explosion killed Assistant Commissioner Faisal Ismail, a Tehsildar, and two police personnel.
The blast occurred near Phatak Mela, a known route in the hilly region of Bajaur. Police spokesperson Mansoor Khan confirmed the use of an improvised explosive device (IED).
In addition to the four fatalities, at least 12 others sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. The incident highlights the persistent threat of terrorism in the tribal belt despite ongoing security operations.
