ATC differs indictment of Sattar, other leaders over incendiary speeches

Farooq Sattar

KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday deferred indictment of MQM-P chief Dr. Farooq Sattar and other party leaders in over provocative speeches by the party founder.
The ATC judge expressed annoyance that the accused persons appeared as and when they liked in utter disregard to the court orders.
The judge directed all the accused to appear together on the same time so that he could frame charges against them and set Jan 27 for their indictment.
The court also repeated non-bailable arrest warrants of Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Khushbakht Shujaat and others over their perpetual absence from the trial proceedings.
In 2016, the MQM leaders were booked for praising and facilitating the anti-state speeches delivered by the party founder outside Karachi Press Club, inciting party workers to attack the media houses.
