Islamabad’s Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has granted bail to Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, following their detention since October 4th.
The bail was approved by Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain in two cases linked to the Kohsar Police Station, concerning allegations of inciting a mob to attack state institutions and police.
The sisters were granted bail on Rs20,000 surety bonds each, despite opposition from Prosecutor Raja Naveed. Their release was ordered immediately.
Although the bail hearing was initially scheduled for October 19th, both ATC judges, Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain and Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, were on leave that day.
