Attack on police post in Bannu planned in Afghanistan, says Pakistan Foreign Office

Islamabad: The Foreign Office has said that the Attack on police post in Bannu was planned by terrorists based in Afghanistan. Authorities confirmed that the Attack on police post in Bannu is linked to cross-border militant activity and foreign-based networks.

Officials stated that the Attack on police post in Bannu on May 9 resulted in the martyrdom of 15 police personnel, while four others were injured. The incident has raised serious concerns over regional security and terrorism threats.

The statement added that United Nations and international reports have repeatedly pointed to the presence of terrorist groups operating inside Afghanistan and their involvement in cross-border attacks.

Pakistan said it will not compromise on its national security. It also reserved the right to take decisive action in response to the Attack on police post in Bannu and other similar threats.
