Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, on Monday termed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s China visit as historic and highly successful. He said it would positively impact the country’s economy.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, he expressed confidence in progress on agreements and projects. These include ML-1, Karachi Circular Railway, IT training for 200,000 Pakistani youth by a Chinese tech company, and the second phase of CPEC in the coming weeks.
He said the upgraded version of CPEC would benefit both countries.
The Information Minister said a new era has begun in Pakistan-China relations. He emphasized that this enduring friendship has stood the test of time.
The Information Minister stated that the security of Chinese nationals is a priority.
Attaullah Tarar mentioned that the economy is moving in the right direction. He noted that inflation and the current account deficit are decreasing. He added that foreign exchange reserves are now sufficient for two months of imports.
The Information Minister highlighted the country’s foreign successes. Referring to Pakistan’s election to the non-permanent seat of the UN Security Council with a big majority, he said this shows the trust of friendly countries in Pakistan.
