PESHAWAR: In a positive move, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has made the decision to open bank accounts for prisoners across the province. The recently released Welfare Fund Rules 2023 by the KP home ministry state that prisoners will now have their own personal bank accounts to support their families. An earthquake jolted parts of eastern Turkiye on Thursday, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). According to EMSC, the intensity of the earthquake was recorded as 5.5 on the Richter scale and occurred 11km SW of Malatya in Turkey. In February this year, a huge earthquake killed more than 2,600 people and injured thousands in Turkiye and northwest Syria.
